Fast Forwarding through the Boring Parts PDF Print E-mail

So Saturday has become Monday and here I am writing last week’s ramble and making it look current. I think all pretense has been thrown out the window and now it's on a as is where is basis.

I can live with that.

There is progress of sorts.

The electrical is bueno. Happy with that. Big time. It was really embarrassing having to trot out to the screen with all of your witty comments about me not paying my electrical bill and how I needed to feed the chipmunk a little more so it got thru the whole show.

You guys need to bring your "A" material next time. Anyways, that seems to be all behind us.

The Weeks Are Interesting PDF Print E-mail

Hey folks. Still running behind and wondering if it isn't easier to just get lapped by the field so it looks like I'm ahead, but really it's all good.

The weeks are interesting.

Last week was reasonably busy and it looks as if we have mostly solved our electrical issues with the help of Ken Stapley of KJS Electric out of Belleville.

Oh sure, not losing all of the power takes some of the excitement out of the evening but I guess I can sail along on dull normal for a while until the next thing breaks.

We had bad sound which is always a big concern. I have switched transmitters and boosted the signal and that seems to have helped but at the end of the day I never could create the sound problems a few people were experiencing so I 'm not sure what we fixed.

If at first you succeed try not to look surprised and take all of the credit, so, ya, I fixed that.

I think sometimes I am the victim of my own casualness.

2 Out Of Three Ain't Bad PDF Print E-mail

Like the old Meatloaf song, these newsletters are kind of a some, but not all effort.

Last week was just too busy to actually stop long enough to sit, so we just did a cut and paste of this and that (and when I say we I mean Marina who keeps this all together and moving along).

SO here we are, post All Nighter, and things are much calmer.

It was quite a night.

We had a partial eclipse, fireworks, two power failures, a 3 a m concussion and floods, pestilence – okay, no pestilence but the June bugs are out of control. They're liked the 3-toed sloth of the insect world.

Yes, another in a long series of fillers. PDF Print E-mail

Well, last week I was relevant, now it's back to pandering and catering to the lowest common denominator. As I have been honest enough to admit, I'm capable of good moments followed by long periods of mediocrity. Sit back and enjoy the dull normal.

It's summer. The column is already slightly dated as The Avengers nears grossing more than Greece, the country not the film.

It's one of those things where Disney distributed it for Marvel, stealing it away from Paramount but Marvel knows what they're doing and it rhymes with 'kajillion. Good film, bound to burn up quickly since it burned so brightly but it was a lot of fun and I think it's a good watch.

It's always more fun to predict what's going to bomb since there are a lot of can't misses in the summer.

Finally... PDF Print E-mail

Well, we're back and just like the final newsletter that never was, our opening weekend newsletter disappeared into the ether as well. What can I say; none of this comes as any surprise to anyone who knows me.

The wagon of accomplishment collapses under the baggage of good intentions.

Hopefully everyone wintered well. I've been able to keep my weight up so that's a blessing.

The Mustang family expanded by another member of the potential labor pool when Hollie and Eric had a son Reed, in November. 3 grandkids and counting. Man I'm old.

This is our 24th season. Seriously. The first program we ran was Who Framed Roger Rabbit and Speed Zone. Oh the horror. I let some slick Willie from Disney talk me into playing a movie that had been released the year before, and then throw in the worst imaginable shows for support. Three Amigos and some other monstrosity for our first ever All Nighter.

Okay, so let's be honest. None of my newsletter goals were met. I was speaking to one of our long time regs Michelle, the other night and she asked me if we ever put out our projected schedule and I said yes, we have a newsletter. Except I'm not sure I ever did that this year. Brutal!

Let's see, what do I have to apologize for this week?
